Remember the good ole days…
Living with 400 people. Eating food someone else cooked for you. Cramming 8 people into a small car for weekend road trips. College. Along with the fun memories there was also the reality of intense study, party pressure, and learning to grow up.
You have been there, so you understand the crucial role that Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) is playing in the lives of college students every day. As a UWEC alumni of Cru, you know what a difference it can make to be plugged into a community of students who are discovering what it means to know God personally. Each of you were touched differently, but all were changed as you came into contact with a group that challenged you spiritually, joined you in community, and encouraged you to take next steps in your walk with God.
As the current students and staff of Cru continue to trust God to reach every college student with the gospel this year we want to ask for your help in offering these opportunities to a new group of students. Everyone knows that college students struggle in the area of finances and yet in Cru we think that some of the best growth opportunities we can offer students come in the form of spending money on conferences, vision trips, and summer projects. This is where you come in. We are looking for 60 alumni to partner at $20 per month by electronic transfer specifically in the area of scholarships.
If God were to bring that many alumni together for an alumni give, we would be able to annually give $14,400 toward sending students. This would enable us to do things such as…
- Make Fall Retreat $20 for freshmen
- Cover the majority of the cost of the Big Break Bus
- Scholarship students and staff who go on a Vision Trip during the year and also want to go on project
- Provide need based scholarships for Life Ops and TCX
The reason we are contacting you right now is that we are asking the Lord to bring 40 freshmen to our Fall Retreat this October. We think that it would make a great difference to these freshmen if we could offer them a cheaper Fall Retreat price, but we currently have very little in our scholarship account to offer them. As we are trusting the Lord for freshmen at our Fall Retreat it seemed like a great chance to involve you not only in seeing freshmen sent to Fall Retreat, but in seeing Cru students sent around the world this year.
